'Barrier Free Onboarding' Checklist
This accessible onboarding checklist helps managers prepare a barrier-free onboarding experience for every new hire. It provides practical steps to take before the employee’s first day, including communicating available accessibility supports, arranging accommodations and accessible technology, preparing accessible onboarding materials, planning an inclusive orientation, protecting employees during probation and performance evaluation, and scheduling follow-up after onboarding. The checklist is designed to be used proactively for every employee, without waiting for a disability disclosure, and includes a final readiness check to confirm outstanding accessibility actions have been addressed.
