Purpose: The Fish Processing Labourer supports daily production operations within the fish processing plant by performing general labour and handling tasks. This role assists processing line workers and ensures that production areas remain clean, organized, and operating efficiently while meeting food safety and quality standards.

Duties:

·        Assist processing line workers with handling, moving, and preparing fish products

·        Load and unload fish, raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products

·        Sort, pack, stack, and transfer products throughout the plant

·        Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, floors, and processing surfaces

·        Remove waste and by-products from production areas in accordance with sanitation procedures

·        Follow all food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety policies

·        Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

·        Perform other general labour duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

·        No formal education required

·        Previous experience in food processing, manufacturing, or general labour is an asset but not required

·        Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines

·        Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment

·        Willingness to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks

Working Conditions and Physical Capacities:

·        Work is performed in a fish processing plant environment

·        Cold, hot, wet, and damp conditions may be present

·        Fast-paced production environment

·        Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on operational needs

·        Standing and walking for extended periods

·        Repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling

·        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

·        Repetitive hand and arm movements
